Powered by Solar Energy

This project was made possible by customers participating in PGE’s Green FutureSM program through the PGE Renewable Development Fund.

One of the coolest things about the PGE Grant and solar energy at O’Neill is being able to see live results of the environmental benefits including CO2 emissions saved and number of trees planted. Access a real-time visual of the positive impact on the environment.

PGE’s Renewable Development Fund

With the generous support from PGE’s Renewable Development Fund, Mary’s Woods has installed solar panels on the roof of the O’Neill Building, allowing us to bring 84kW of clean energy electricity to the Mary’s Woods community and beyond.

“As a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, Mary’s Woods has a strong commitment to steward resources responsibly and we strongly believe that solar energy is a way to do this. This is an important project which will demonstrate our commitment and values to the community, and we believe it is the first of additional solar projects that we will undertake in the future. We look forward to partnering with PGE to make this long-term dream and plan come to fruition.” – Kim Scott, VP Finance Administration & CFO

Mary’s Woods operates within the core values of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary to emphasize individual and community-wide wellness, life-long learning, and spiritual development. Mary’s Woods is proud to live out the mission of the Sisters of the Holy Names, to support their environmental sustainability and stewardship values, and to provide leadership and education about sustainability.

We are committed to continued education and look forward to working on an intergenerational education program with local schools and the greater community.
