Title: Dr. King 50 Years Later – Lessons from the Jericho Road

For most Americans, Dr. King’s image is frozen at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963. But in the next 5 years Dr. King challenged Americans to look closely at the economic inequality, and military adventurism that was dividing us. Questions of economic inequality and America’s role in the world have only increased since 1968. In his final speech, before Dr. King spoke of going to the mountaintop, he posed the crucial question that is even more relevant today. That question and answer is found in the lessons from the Jericho Road.

The Northwest Freedom Singers return to honor Martin Luther King Jr. with songs of hope and inspiration. A reception follows the event.
