Aqua Aerobics
This class is a fun and effective way to exercise, providing a safe alternative to traditional resistance training. The benefits are numerous, including improved cardiovascular and muscular health. Aqua Aerobics reduces the chance of injury, and may help with current injuries as well.   It is great for people who have arthritis, as it decreases the load placed on joints, and is also beneficial for people with Parkinson’s disease.

Better Balance
An all-standing, 30 minute class consisting of balance-related activities and movements. Please inquire with wellness staff before participating

Chair Yoga
Chair yoga introduces you to the most effective stretches, all done from the comfort of your chair. You don’t need to stand up to see and feel the benefits of yoga. This class helps you relax, rhythmically breathe, and learn to stretch with increased flexibility.  Chair yoga will leave your mind and body feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Club Yoga

Also known as Indian and Persian Club Swinging or Circular Training, this was a popular strengthening tool for warriors of the Ancient East and was the original inspiration for juggling clubs.  Ananda designed his Club Yoga class by combining two ancient arts into one, blending techniques that build strength, flexibility, mental focus and concentration.

Circuit Training
Timed intervals of exercises make circuit training class a good overall workout. Each break between sets gives you a chance to prepare for the next round. This class is moderately challenging, giving each person the opportunity to push themselves to their full potential. There is a 10 person limit so contact Corrina if you are interested in joining!

Gentle Aquatics
This class is a great alternative to aqua aerobics, as it is more gentle and slower paced. Gentle aquatics is a good workout for those who may have moderate to severe arthritis or joint pain, back pain, or knee pain, and find typical exercise to be too painful. Still enjoy a fun workout that targets all muscles, while going at your own pace.

Keep on Moving
Keep on moving is all about getting an overall workout. It is a combination of light to moderate cardio, light strengthening, and stretching and ROM (Range of Motion). Exercises are done both seated and standing to accommodate anyone anywhere from moderately sedentary to active.  Come move around to great music and get a great workout!

Line Dance
Residents need no dancing experience to join into the fun. Line dancing improves balance, as well as cognitive function and muscle strength. Performances are optional, and you are invited to join at any time! Each dance can be revisited before we start, so there is plenty of time to learn.

Mat Yoga
Traditional yoga including floor exercises, balance poses, and breath work. Great for strength, flexibility, and stress relief. This is a challenging class with amazing benefits, please contact for approval.

Stretch & Move
This class is designed to aid in fall prevention while incorporating flexibility and strength in a gentle way. Stretch and balance class is great for helping neuromuscular function and hand/eye coordination. We focus on incorporating fun activities that involve static balance, reflex reactions, and body awareness.  This class may be great for people with Parkinson’s, arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, or someone looking to ease back into exercise.

Stretch Class
This class focuses on gentle, full body stretching for 30 minutes. Stretch Class combines seated and standing stretches, which can help increase your flexibility and range of motion.

T’ai Chi
T’ai Chi is an ancient system of exercise that stimulates and balances the vital force energy known as chi. A recent study at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis showed that the regular practice of T’ai Chi greatly reduced the risk of falling for seniors. It proved to be the most beneficial of all the exercises studied, including yoga and walking for improving over-all balance. T’ai Chi can aid in reducing stress, increasing energy and endurance, improving balance and circulation, and improving mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

Offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 – 3pm

Water Volleyball
For a more rigorous physical, mental, and social class, come play water volleyball. Twice a week two teams take turns alternating on both the shallow and deep side of the net, passing a beach ball back and forth over the net. This class is all about competitive fun, while getting a great work out at the same time!

Personal training is a great way to get started if you are unsure about your physical ability or if you have any limitations that prevent you from doing certain activities. Because our programs are specialized to suit your needs, a fee is in place to compensate for the time and research dedicated to making your program perfect for you as an individual.
