Launching Yearlong Celebration Honoring 25 Years of Community

Mary’s Woods is proud to mark its 25th anniversary with a yearlong celebration honoring the people, purpose, and shared history that have shaped the community over the past quarter century.
Founded through the bold vision of the Sisters of the Holy Names, Mary’s Woods has grown into a thriving Continuing Care Retirement Community rooted in dignity, compassion, and connection. That vision has been brought to life every day by the employees who support residents and one another, across departments and across generations.

The anniversary year officially begins on Friday, February 6, marking 25 years since Mary’s Woods welcomed its very first resident. The day serves as the symbolic kickoff to a full year of monthly celebrations and reflections designed to lift up the stories, relationships, and contributions that have made Mary’s Woods what it is today.
Two commemorative gatherings on February 6 reflect the spirit of the anniversary year:
- 25 Years: History of The Hummingbird, a look back at the community’s longtime newsletter and the stories, voices, and moments it has preserved over the years.
- 25 Years: Concert & Reception with Michael Allen Harrison, welcoming back the acclaimed pianist whose performances have been part of Mary’s Woods’ story since its earliest days, including the Grand Opening and 10-Year Anniversary.
Throughout the year, additional monthly moments will highlight Mary’s Woods’ shared history while looking ahead to its next chapter—grounded in the same mission that has guided the community since its founding. As Mary’s Woods celebrates 25 years, the organization extends deep gratitude to the employees whose dedication and care continue to make the community a place of belonging. “Thank you for the work you do and the role you will play in our next chapter,” Duncan said.
