Beginning Tuesday December 5, Mary’s Woods will host a -day meal-packing event, organized to distribute 35,000 meals to local members in need with the goal of helping to alleviate food insecurity around the holidays.
Mary’s Woods residents and employee team members are filling assembly lines to pack fortified chicken flavored rice and vegetable soup. More than 180 residents and staff are ready to volunteer over the course of this two-day event.
The dry soup packs will be shared with local organizations: The Sunshine Division, Urban Gleaners, West Linn Food Pantry, Community Transition School and St. Vincent DePaul, who will then distribute the meal packs to those in need. Each of the nonprofit food distribution partners will be spotlighted at the meal packing events and will provide a short educational presentation and share their story of impact in the community.

About Mary’s Woods
Mary’s Woods is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community situated on 40 historic acres in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Mary’s Woods is missioned to provide individuals with a continuum of housing, health, and educational services that ensure the dignity, well-being, independence, and security of older persons.
