
WOMEN’S BIPOC Speaker Series 2022 – 2023
Mary’s Woods is pleased to host the Women’s BIPOC Speaker Series in partnership with African American Women of Lake Oswego, the City of Lake Oswego, Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library, Lake Oswego Public Library, LO for Love, Respond to Racism, West Linn Alliance, and West Linn Public Library.
Over the course of this series, we’ll hear from accomplished, local BIPOC women as they answer the questions “What is your story?” and “What are your passions?”
The speaker series kicks off on Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 pm with Bandana Shrestha, Director of AARP Oregon. Ms. Shrestha is the new state director for AARP Oregon. She represents the interests of 506,000 members and oversees the work of 7 professional staff and 150 volunteers to advance AARP’s social impact mission for people age 50 and older statewide.
This free community event will be held at Mary’s Woods in the Dunn Community Center – Cascadia Hall, 17520 Mesnard St, Lake Oswego.

Parking Information: Enter Mary’s Woods campus on Holy Names Drive. Take the first left into the large parking lot. Drop-off location in front of the Dunn Community Center on Mesnard.
The speaker series continues on November 10 at 7:00 pm with J’reyesha Brannon, Engineer – City of Portland. J’reyesha is a licensed environmental engineer, managing and designing millions of dollars in capital storm and sewer projects. Outside of work she is an environmental justice advocate, artist, and holds various leadership roles in community organizations.
The series will continue monthly through March (except December). Remaining speaker details are forthcoming. SAVE THE DATES: January 12, February 9, and March 23.
