Resident Writers Recognized for Literary Achievement

March 8, 2016

litMary’s Woods congratulates its resident writers for their participation and success in the recent Leading Age Creative Writing contest. The recognized work of three Mary’s Woods residents will be published in the 2016 Creative Writing ebook, Reflections: A Collection of Writing and Poetry by Oregon’s Elders.

The resident writers are:

  • Bob Robinson: Judges Choice for his short story, Education on the Farm
  • Pamela A. Still: Recognized for her short story, Four Pams and a Penny
  • Trish Gardner: Recognized for her poem, The Current State of Affairs

The annual Leading Age Creative Writing contest began in 1993. Member residents submit short stories and poems that are read and scored by judges in each category who are published writers and poets. The winners were honored at a luncheon in February, and excerpts of the winning entries were read by the writer or a chosen professional reader.
