Mousai Remix to headline January 31 show

Mary’s Woods is pleased to announce that Mousai Remix, a Portland -based string quartet comprised of Oregon Symphony members Emily Cole, Shin-young Kwon, Jennifer Arnold, and Marilyn de Oliveira, will perform on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at 2pm in the Mary’s Woods Chapel of the Holy Names.

Mousai Remix takes its name from the ancient Greek Mousai, the muses inspiring the arts and sciences. The quartet is assembled out of a passion to study and perform the gMousai-Laughing-251x225reat string quartet literature, a desire to share their love of music with the Portland community, and promote music education in Portland-area schools.

“Four-inch heels and bows flying: Mousai Remix returns,” said Bill Crane, Music in the Woods Program Director. “What better way to open our third season than with perennial favorites Mousai Remix? They are fierce, beautiful, perfectly balanced, and utterly charming.”

Complimentary refreshments─−including wine and cheese─−will be served in the Provincial House Auditorium following the show. Additionally, concertgoers will have the o
pportunity to meet the artists during the reception and participate in a Q&A.

Individual concert tickets are available online at at a rate of $25 per person per concert or $30 at the door. Season ticket information is also available online.

Music in the Woods is an annual concert series offered by Mary’s Woods, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Names and a trusted provider of housing, health, and vital aging services for older adults. Inspired by the values of the Sisters, Mary’s Woods is committed to the full development for every individual at each life stage. The concert series is one of the many ways Mary’s Woods demonstrates its commitment to vital aging, community building and the celebration of life.
