Honoring Women’s History Month

Honoring Women’s History Month

March 1, 2019

The Mary’s Woods Diversity Task Force was formed in June of 2013, with the goal to welcome, celebrate, and educate members of our community on topics relating to diversity awareness.

Co-chaired by Janice McGuire and Stacy Sharma, residents and staff members meet regularly to plan celebrations and events around diversity topics. Since its inception, the Task Force has organized many informative tours in the Portland area, including the recent Jewish Museum & Center of Holocaust Education trip and an outing to Chinatown. Its biggest achievement is hosting the annual Martin Luther King Celebration – now in its 5th year – an event that has attracted members of congress and other national speakers from across the country.

In March, the Task Force is proud to honor Women’s History Month by presenting a Women’s History Month Film Festival, March 4 – 7 at 2:00pm in the Provincial House Auditorium.
