Walt Knapp

Walt Knapp grew up in the fields and forests of rural Pennsylvania. He majored in forestry at Penn State, and later completed a MS in forest resources at the University of Idaho. He served more than 30 years with the U.S. Forest, retiring as Regional Silviculturist for the National Forests of Oregon and Washington. Following that, he formed a consulting company specializing in silviculture, forest ecology, and arboriculture.
Walt and his wife Patty have lived at Mary’s Woods with their dog Henry since the opening of the Village. He was the first Residents’ Council representative for the Pepin building and continues to be involved with activities at Mary’s Woods.
