Mission Integration Director

Susan’s relationship with the Holy Names Sisters began in 2001 shortly after the opening of Mary’s Woods. Born and raised in California, Susan and her family relocated to the beautiful Northwest after having received a degree from Santa Clara University in Marketing and working for Eastman Kodak Company in sales and support for over 10 years.

With four young children in tow, Susan would visit with the Sisters and little did her family know, Mary’s Woods would become a “second home”, blessing them with the gift of hospitality and welcome. Susan became a graduate student in the Masters of Divinity program at Marylhurst University which she completed in 2010. During this time, she started as an intern at Mary’s Woods in 2006 and has been formally part of the Spiritual Care Department since 2007 and was named the Vice President of Mission Integration in 2021. On the encouragement of the SNJM community and experiencing the commitment to values of love, hospitality and justice, Susan answered a call to become a SNJM Associate in 2019.

With much gratitude and reverence, Susan fully embraces the mission of Mary’s Woods through her sense of compassion and integrity. She firmly believes everything is done through the lens of our mission and the more we understand and embrace our mission, the more we understand the meaning of service and community.
