Gail Houck

Houck is a Professor Emeritus in the School of Nursing at Oregon Health and Science University, having served on faculty primarily in the specialty of mental health nursing, and held various administrative positions until late 2013. She subsequently joined the School of Nursing at the University of Washington and served as Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Family and Child Nursing until she retired in 2018.
In addition to academic service contributions, Gail’s community service activities have included serving: as member of the board of directors and program committee for Neighborhood House; as member of the board of directors and program and grants committees, and as co-chair and chair of the grants committee for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate; and as a member of the board of directors and the program, partnerships, and research committee for the Committee for Children (Seattle, WA). She most recently served as a volunteer member of the development committee for Saint Andrew’s Nativity School and continues to support grant efforts there.
Gail lives in Tigard with her husband, Mike; their daughter, Katey, lives in Washington DC.
