Resident Fund

Mary’s Woods is a home for life. Sometimes through no fault of their own, residents face difficulties meeting their basic needs. When that happens the Resident Fund serves as a safety net. The Mary’s Woods community has a profound sense of security knowing the Resident Fund is there. Your donation provides supplemental monthly service fee grants for residents who have outlived and exhausted their financial resources.
General Fund / Greatest Need

Sometimes, our most pressing needs cannot be categorized and therefore are not supported by specific funding. Unrestricted giving, in support of the greatest need, allows donors to contribute in an all-purpose way, allowing Mary’s Woods to use these gifts to support immediate and priority operational needs.
Employee Education Fund

All Mary’s Woods team members are a vital part of the community. The employee education fund provides support for continuing education and skill development opportunities to ensure that employees maximize their potential — professionally, personally and as leaders in the wider world.
Your support provides advanced training and tuition subsidies. Team members can find additional information and directions on how to apply on the employee portal or by emailing Human Resources at mwhr@maryswoods.org.
Sr. Roswitha Frawley Educational Scholarship Fund

A subset of the Employee Education Fund is the Sr. Roswitha Frawley Educational Scholarship. This scholarship is available to team members, their legal spouses/partners, or their dependents under the age of 23, to help further their career goals.
Learn how recent scholarship recipients have furthered their education.

Employee Emergency Assistance Fund

Your donation supports employees in times of crisis. Examples include help with car repair, groceries, housing and unexpected medical bills. Team members can email Human Resources at mwhr@maryswoods.org for assistance.
Ways to Give
There are several ways to give in the spirit of service at Mary’s Woods.
CREDIT CARD or CHECK
To donate by credit card, donate securely online. If you prefer to mail a check or use your bank’s online bill pay service, make the check out to “Mary’s Woods” and indicate in the memo line where you would like to direct your gift. Drop off your payment and printable donation form at the drop box in Provincial House, the nearest Concierge desk, or mail to:

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS
Contact your financial institution to set-up your gift.
EMPLOYER MATCHING
Visit Charity Navigator to find out if your employer has an employee match program in place.
TRIBUTE GIVING
Honor a friend, neighbor or loved one with a tribute gift. Leave a lasting legacy, donate a tribute leaf to be added to the Celebration Garden or honor someone special with a dedicated tribute bench.
GIFTS IN LIEU OF FLOWERS
If you are honoring a loved one with a gift “in lieu of flowers,” please select Give Now to make your dedication. If you are considering an “in lieu of flowers,” mention in an obituary, please know how much we appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Please use this suggested copy for print in obituaries:
“In lieu of flowers, tribute gifts in _____’s name can be made to support the <<Insert Fund of Choice>> fund at Mary’s Woods, 17400 Holy Names Dr. Lake Oswego, OR 97034.”
We appreciate all gifts and will let you know the names and addresses of those who have contributed in your loved one’s name.

Tax Benefits
Mary’s Woods at Marylhurst is nonprofit organization missioned to provide a continuum of housing, health and educational services for older adults. We are recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS under Section 501(c)3.
Through a planned gift to Mary’s Woods, you can thoughtfully invest in the future of the community while continuing to meet your other financial goals. Deciding on the right gift can be difficult. It’s necessary to think about issues ranging from maximizing tax benefits to preserving assets for your loved ones.
