James Arp
Prior to his role at Mary’s Woods, James served in several top leadership positions for Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH). As Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Home and Community Care, his leadership and vision made possible the operational and successful integration of multiple service lines across three states including Home Health, Hospice, Home Medical Equipment, Home Infusion & Pharmacy, Palliative Care and Skilled Nursing Facilities/Assisted Living Facilities.
From 2012 to 2018, James served as Chief Executive of Home and Community Services for the Oregon Region where he led operations for multiple service lines for home and community services in the markets served by Providence within Oregon. Highlights from his tenure include the opening of three new PACE health and social centers, also known as ElderPlace, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly that helps keep older adults as healthy as possible. The Oregon PACE program served more than 1,600 participants and is the fifth largest PACE program in the nation. Additionally James developed a Regional Senior Health Program, and led the development of Elder-at-Home, a multidisciplinary 24/7 service to meet the needs of the most vulnerable, chronically ill seniors. His long-time work with PSJH also includes roles as Chief Operating Officer for Providence Portland Medical Center and Chief Executive for the Columbia Gorge Service Area.
Before relocating back to the Portland Metro area, his leadership roles include Chief Executive Officer for Crossroads Regional Medical Center in Wentzville, MO and Chief Executive Officer of the Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, CA.
James attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Healthcare Administration following his graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management.
