Lynn Szender Director of Health Services

Lynn brings more than 36 years of dedication and proven experience in direct care, clinical management,
and team building to all levels of service provided in the Marie Rose Center and to the Mary’s Woods community at large. Lynn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Portland in 1978 and a graduate certificate in gerontology from Marylhurst University in 2004. In 2007 she was a leadership AAHSA fellow. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and in 2009 was a fellow in the inaugural class of their Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy. Lynn is certified as an administrator of assisted living and residential care facilities and licensed as a nursing home administrator. Using the knowledge gleaned from these accomplishments, three decades as a director of nursing and active pursuit of continuing education, she continually strives to spark excellence in delivery of holistic services, developing caring relationships and advocating for person-directed care. Lynn currently serves on the board of directors for the Oregon Alliance of Senior and Health Services with specific work on the leadership alliance program. She is active in nursing workforce development by serving as a resource and maintaining partnerships between Mary’s Woods and the Schools of Nursing at University of Portland, Oregon Health & Science University, Linfield College, Clackamas Community College and the Oregon Center for Nursing.
