Mary Breiling, SNJM

Sister Mary worked in education as a teacher and principal for 24 years. While in education, she served for several years on the Governor’s Advisory Committee, ECIA, Chapter II. In 1991, Sister Mary moved into business management, serving as treasurer on the leadership team of the Oregon Province, Sisters of the Holy Names, for fourteen years. During this time, Sister Mary participated with the leadership of the Sisters to plan, develop and build Mary’s Woods as well as other development and renovation projects on the Marylhurst campus. Sister Mary holds master’s degrees in science and business administration as well as a certificate in telecommunications management. Currently, Sister Mary serves as co-chair of the Clackamas County Aging Services Advisory Committee.

Sister Mary is a strong advocate of sustainable building and environmental sustainability. Recently, she built a guest house following the Living Building Challenge Guidelines.
